Swim Instructors
Description
As a Streamline Swim Academy Swim Instructor, you will help others find their passion in the water by teaching swimming skills to enjoy for a lifetime. Streamline Swim Academy is heavily focused on teaching water safety principles along with proper technique. Our swim school begins taking on children as young as 4 years of age. In our lessons, parents select a lesson time within a quarter. On the first day each student’s skill level is tested. On the second day, we split into our classes, (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced). We allow up to 4 individuals per class.
Qualifications
Must be 16 years or older. 18 years or older preferred.
Must have American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification or willing to obtain. Training is available to the right candidate.
Must have at least 2 past seasons of swim lesson teaching experience.
Preferred past swim coach experience.
Preferred American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
Ability to teach, breakdown and recommend drills for front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, butterfly, side stroke, and elementary backstroke.
Comfortable working in a pool setting.
Positive attitude and high energy.
Good communication skills with students and parents.
Schedule
Must be available at all or some of the following dates and times. Mondays from 5:45-8:15pm, Tuesdays from 3:45-8:15pm, Wednesdays from 5:45-8:15pm, Thursdays from 3:45-8:15pm and the occasional Saturday.
Swim Test
All Swim Instructor candidates will undergo to a two-part interview process. Step one, complete an interview. Step two complete an in-water swim test. Candidates will prove their swim ability and existing knowledge of stroke breakdown and drill usage.
Salary Description
Swim instructors start at $20.00/hr.

Lifeguards
Description
At Streamline Swim Academy we are not required to hire lifeguards, but we take this extra step to show to our clients that safety is a top priority. It is important for children to recognize and understand the role of a lifeguard. In addition, it is important for the lifeguard to take their job seriously as accidents do happen, even during swim lessons. Lifeguards will guard alone and will be expected to guard for up to 4 hours at a time.
Qualifications
Must be American Red Cross Lifeguard Certified.
Must be at least 15 years old.
Prior swim team experience is a bonus.
Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to focus and be attentive to the pool for long periods of time.
Must have good communications skills both written and verbal.
Must be able to work free of distractions from cellular devices.
Schedule
Must be available M/W from 5:45-8pm and Tu/Th from 3:45-8pm or any combination.
Salary Description
Lifeguards start at $15/hour.
